I will confess. I bought some Body Glide. It’s an anti-chafing stick. The past few weeks when I ran extended distances, my boxers would get damp from sweat, and would ride up and chafe my inner thighs. At first, I tried remedying this painful problem by buying boxer briefs, but alas, the boxer briefs rode up too. Today, I tried some Body Glide, and although my boxers still rode up, the balm protected me from any chafing. It was excellent!

I went back to Philadelphia Runner and they refitted me for a new shoe! Apparently I have a complex gait, and am on the fence between needing a neutral shoe and a stability shoe. Also, I have a super wide foot. After two analyses of my gait, I got fitted for the Asics Gel Nimbus-10, and they feel incredible. The shoe is super blue and bright, but I’m ok with that. More importantly, they’re super comfy, and roomy for my fat feet. Also, while the shoe is normally $120, they just let me trade in the $100 shoe I’d purchased earlier! I love this store, and am going to buy more things here for sure.

I ran 5k on the treadmill right after, and did it in 25:40 seconds. Still slow, but a big speed upgrade over my last! I also just weighed in at 153, so I’ve lost about 11 pounds since I started exercising. It’s pretty fantastic!
